Civil War Period .44 Cap And Ball Pistol. In non- Working condition Civil War period pocket model pistol . There is no numbers so it is impossible to accurately date this one. It is a standard version with plain wood grips. It has some scroll work on the barrel and side plate (see photos) This gun’s spring is very tight but it does not work and does not fire or cock. It does have some mild surface pitting (see photos). the grips are worn but nice. The gun is .44 caliber. A classic Civil War period pistol and A choice non-functioning display gun. This is very much like the “Philadelphia Derringer” that Booth killed Lincoln with. A favorite of both Confederate and Union soldiers during the Civil War.
