A very nice early pick up U.S. box plate with both box hooks broken. There is a small piece broken from the edge. This was found on the 5th Corps Hospital site (Bushman Farm) Gettysburg, PA. It has a remarkable chocolate brown patina. It was found by legendary battlefield author and relic collector Dean Thomas. It is documented in his notes and and the words “5th Corps Hosp” is in black ink. This is an exceptional plate and comes with complete museum documentation. Well documented plates like this from Gettysburg are RARE! Although this has some condition issues it is still a very desirable location. The 20th Maine and many of the other troops who fought for Little Round Top were part of the 5th Corps.
