The “Deutsche Arbeitsfront” (German Labor-front), originally founded in 1933, became an official NSDAP organization in October 1934. Its stated purpose was to educate the workers in industry and commerce in furtherance of the smooth and efficient operation of all labor in the Third Reich. It also controlled the KdF, “Kraft durch Freude” (Strength through Joy) organization which provided recreation for workers. However, DAF’s most important goal was to enforce the political stability of the large mass of work force. A die-struck alloy pin which features the DAF emblem of a mobile swastika within a fourteen-toothed cog, 20mm in diameter. Where the cog is smooth, the swastika has raised edges within which is a cross-hatched pattern. Complete with original stick pin device. Nice quality example showing the expected minor age and wear, slight loss to the tip of the enamel. One of the classic desirable collector’s items from the third Reich in used but good condition.
