Original WWII German Luftwaffe Construction Personal Breast Eagle Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran. Scarce Luftwaffe pattern national eagle was originally introduced for wear by Fliegerschaft, (Pilot Base), personnel of the DLV, Deutscher Luftsportsverband, (German Air Sports Association). The insignia consists of an, inverted triangular, woven, black cotton base with a machine embroidered Luftwaffe style eagle in flight, clutching a canted swastika in one talon, positioned below machine embroidered Latin script, “L. Bau.”, indicating Air Force Construction, all in silvery/grey rayon threads. The eagle is very similar to the standard Luftwaffe eagle but is facing to its right as opposed to its left. The black base also has a fine, machine embroidered, silvery/grey rayon stripe positioned near the outer edges. Nice used example showing the expected but minimal age and wear. 100% Guaranteed to be authentic . Complete museum documentation (COA) Provided. Certified by The Gettysburg Museum of History. The Gettysburg Museum of History does not support or condone Adolf Hitler or the Nazi Party and is only offering this as a historic relic. Please see our other items on the web site.
