Original WWII German M-40 Scarce Gold Navy Decal Helmet Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran. Helmet retains most of its original slightly rough textured field-grey paint. The golden yellow Kriegsmarine eagle decal is retained about 98%. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. M31 leather liner has tears and is missing a few pieces. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a deep number stamp, “333” and the interior left side apron has manufacturers code and size stamp “SE64” indicating size 64. This helmet was discarded by a U.S. Veteran in 1960 in Queens N.Y. We bought it about a decade ago sold it much later and recently had the opportunity to buy it again. A very scarce German Navy helmet typical of those worn by the coastal artillery units in Normandy. A nice honest untouched Veteran bring back. 100% Guaranteed to be authentic Gettysburg Museum Certified (COA) provided.
