Working unusually good condition Civil War period boot pistol This was most likely imported for the U.S. market during the Civil War. There is no date or numbers so it is impossible to accurately date this one. Most likely late 1850's to Early Civil War. It is a standard version with plane carved wood grips. The spring is a bit off and needs an ajustment but does work and both cocks and fires on half cock only. The trigger works fair when cocked. The gun is about a .45 caliber. A choice beautiful display pistol. A favorite of both Confederate and Union soldiers during the Civil War.     Original Civil War .32 Caliber DD Cone Marked Uhlinger Pistol Low Number. Uhlinger’s D.D. CONE marked, .32 rimfire pistols (Flayderman 8A-184) with a 4 ¾” octagonal barrel. The pistol is typical of the Uhlinger guns in that it is only marked with the trade name D.D. CONE / WASHINGTON D.C. on top of the barrel flat and with the serial number 1121. The serial number is found externally on the bottom of the grip frame, under the barrel (hidden by the ejector rod), on the side of the cylinder and on the inner edge of the loading gate. It is also found stamped on the inside of the two-piece rosewood grips. . This gun has no condition issues, except slight surface mild pitting (see photos) and small chip in the hammer that does not effect the gun's works. This is 100% guaranteed to be authentic, and unaltered. In collectors grade condition, a very nice working artifact. A rare pistol produced in the U.S. for use in the American Civil War.     Very nice model 1860 U.S. Navy Cutlass. It is unmarked the blade is nice. The handle wood is good, the leather wrap is very worn and the wire wrap is gone. The leather scabbard has 39 copper rivets and is very nice one weak point in the scabbard (see pics) but is intact. An earlier recovered Confederate roller belt buckle in relic condition, the tongue still moves! This buckle was found at Spotslyvania Court House at General Ewell's line. It has a great old ink tag written by Bill Gavin. Gavin started hunting with early metal detectors in the 1940's. He is considered the founding father of Civil War relic hunting with metal detectors. Gavin wrote the first Civil War Belt buckle guide book in the early 1960's (see photos). Many Confederates wore roller buckles (see the period photos of Confederates wearing the is type of buckle.
