Original WWII German M16 Transitional Army Helmet Painted By U.S. Vet As A Trophy HelmetSOLD Original WWII German M16 Transitional Army Helmet Painted By U.S. Vet As A Trophy Helmet. Factory re-furbished construction Austrian M16 helmet retains part of it's field-grey over-paint. The left side of the helmet has an Wehrmacht eagle decal which is retained about 95%. The two forward liner retaining rivets, both of the extended ventilation side lugs and both of the early chinstrap retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet has a tan leather liner that is complete and has some condition issues (see photos). It has an unusual transitional chin strap. The art is painted by a U.S Veteran of the 1st Army with the First Army insignia and the European countries the First Army went through. An excellent historical helmet. Shows the expected age, but overall excellent condition. Gettysburg Museum Certified (COA) provided
