  • Original WWII Era Early German Wehrmacht (Army) 2 Piece Belt Buckle Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified

    SOLD Original WWII German Wehrmacht (Army) Combat Belt Buckle Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran.   Early, two piece, standard issue, silver washed,  construction, box buckle features a pebbled outer field with a separate, central, embossed, circular face plate soldered in place. The face plate has a high relief, embossed national eagle with down-swept wings, to the slightly domed, smooth finished, center, encompassed by a laurel leaf cluster to the bottom and script, "Gott Mit Uns", (God With Us), to the top. The laurel leaf cluster and script are on a ribbed background and are encircled by both an inner and outer simulated twisted rope border. The buckle shows nice detailing and attractive  age and usage patina. The reverse of the buckle has four, small,  spots retaining the face plate, a stamped, raised, semi-circular catch and the prong bar and prongs that are no longer intact. Priced according. The buckle has no visible manufacturer’s markings. Gettysburg Museum Certified (COA) provided. Rare 100% Guaranteed to be authentic pre-1945. Sold for historic purposes only.     Original WWII German Wehrmacht (Army) Combat Belt Buckle Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran. 1940 pattern,  die stamped steel construction, combat box buckle features a smooth outer field with a high relief, embossed Wehrmacht, (Armed Forces), style eagle with down swept wings, clutching a canted swastika in it’s talons, to the slightly domed center, encompassed by an oak-leaf cluster to the bottom and script, "Gott Mit Uns", (God With Us), to the top. The oak-leaf cluster and script are on a ribbed background and are encircled by both an inner and outer simulated twisted rope border. The reverse of the buckle is a mirror image of the obverse and the brazed, buckle catch, prong bar and prongs are all intact. Very  buckle with some  loss and has a great look. Typical light age toning plus wear during use. Nice example issued example with expected  age/condition issues.  It is relatively unusual to find the stamped steel buckles with a silver finish.
