David Malgee

Historian, Author, Retired Business Executive
David Malgee is a native of Western New York who received his Master’s Degree in History from the University of Richmond in 1983. He spent 40 years in Virginia as Chief Operating Officer of VSP Technologies before moving to Gettysburg with his wife, Sherri in 2015. He has since served seven years on the Board of Directors of the Gettysburg Foundation, including 18 months as Interim President (2020 and 2023). He currently serves as a member of the Advisory Board for Adams County Historical Society and is co-leading a local fundraising campaign for the American Battlefield Trust to restore historic landscapes in Gettysburg. David is an advanced collector of Gettysburg battle artifacts and speaks regularly on that subject, and other Civil War topics. He is currently completing a biography of Col. Eliakim Sherrill of the 126th New York Volunteer’s, who was mortally wounded at Gettysburg.
