    Original WWII German M35 Double Decal Camouflaged Combat Helmet Normandy Bring Back. A model 1935 double decal Army helmet. The decals were period removed, traces can be seen. It has a very unusual tri-color thick painted camouflage pattern. The paint has an amazing deep patina that can only be created naturally by authentic age. The liner is nice but show signs of use as expected. The aluminum band has a break in the back (see photo). One of the 2 chin strap loops is broken.     Original WWII German War Merit Cross With Swords 1st Class Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran. The War Merit Cross was instituted on October 18TH 1939, in two classes with both classes issued, with and without swords, for award to military personnel and civilians, including females and foreigners, for exemplary service and/or bravery in Germany's war effort, in a non-combatant role. The addition of swords to the award signified bravery as in this example. Die struck zinc award with a silver wash is in the form of a Maltese style cross with a circular centerpiece with an embossed, canted, swastika encircled by an oak-leaf wreath to the obverse. The swords, indicating bravery, emanated upwards between the arms of the cross. The background field of the obverse centerpiece is smooth while the arms of the cross have a pebbled background field with raised, smooth, outer edges. The plain, reverse has an integral molded hinge, a broad, tapered vertical pin and an integral molded catch all intact.     Rare Japanese Officer Sun Helmet With Bullion Star Captured At Okinawa Brought Home By US Veteran. Army officer issue helmet. Woven bamboo covered with light olive drab water-resistant, cotton drill cloth. The covering is comprised of six machine sewn pieces, meeting at the apex of the crown and sewn under a reinforcing band along its brim. A 20mm wide band, with a loop to its reverse, is horizontally sewn along the mid-point of the helmet. Above the band, to its forward seam line, is sewn a gold bullion officer Army pattern star insignia. To the interior, its medium green colored liner, in a looser weave material, mirrors the six-piece construction to the exterior. Both issue tags present. Some wear as expected, complete.     Original WWII German Army (Heer) Cold Weather Sheep Skin Hat U.S. Veteran Bring Back. Nice quality, multi-panel, patch work, whitened sheep skin construction winter cap with the natural hide to the exterior and the white sheep’s wool to the interior. The front center of the cap has a, machine embroidered, Heer Army eagle in light green threads on a cut-out Army green base with a separate machine embroidered, national tri-color cockade situated just below eagle. The cap features fold down side and back panels with the panels held in position at the top of the cap by a thread loop and a corresponding tie string. When the side and back panels are in the upright position the sheep’s wool is visible to the exterior. The back and side panels were designed to be folded down to protect the wearer’s ears and neck and the panels could be secured with the fabric loop tie closed under the wearer’s chin as required. This was a combat worn example brought home by a US veteran. A large oversize official document from the city of Eindhoven in Holland with wax seal and ribbon presented to Major Dick Winters. This document accompanied the "Medal of Eindhoven" that was presented to Winters. This is the document only. In 2016 The Gettysburg Museum of History obtained the Major Dick Winters collection including his files and photographs. In the collection were two of these documents. One of the documents are on display in the Museum. We decided to let someone else enjoy the honor of owning the second one.     Original WWII German M-35 Former Double Decal Army (Heer) Helmet, U.S. Veteran Bring Back. The sheet steel construction helmet retains about 80% of its original smooth parade green paint. The left side of the helmet has an black lined, Wehrmacht eagle decal which is retained about 95%. The right side of the helmet's national tri-color decal has been removed per 1941 orders. All three liner retaining rivets and both inserted ventilation bushings are all intact. The interior of the helmet has an  tan leather liner with all of its fingers  intact. The liner is in overall very good condition showing light chafe wear to the edges.  The interior reverse neck guard apron is serial number stamped, "0777", and the interior left side apron is stamped with the manufacturers code and size, "Q64", indicating manufacture by Quest, size 64. An untouched early example brought back by a U.S. Veteran. This is a scarce earlier helmet , most earlier versions were repainted for use later. 100% Guaranteed to be authentic and untouched .     Original WWII German M-35 Double Decal Luftwaffe Helmet With Early Pattern Eagle US Veteran Bring Back. The sheet steel construction helmet retains about 80% of its original smooth, Luftwaffe blue/grey paint. The left side of the helmet has a first pattern, "droop-tailed", (circa 1934-1936/1937), Luftwaffe eagle which is retained about 92%.  The right side of the helmet has a national tri-color shield decal which is retained about 85%. All three, early brass, liner retaining rivets and both inset ventilation bushings are all intact. The interior of the helmet has a light, tan leather All the liner fingers are complete  The reverse, interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number, "3035" and remnants of black, hand painted letters. The interior left side apron has the stamped manufacturers code and size, "ET66", indicating  size 66. The helmet has no chinstrap  Nice, early Luftwaffe helmet.     SOLD WWII German Medal & Document Grouping Killed At Normandy June 8, 1944. Grouping includes a west wall medal and document for a German soldier stationed in Normandy who was killed on June 8, 1944 just after D-Day. The medal is a Die struck, tombac construction medal with a bronze wash is in the form of a roughly, 41mm tall, 32mm wide, vertical oval with embossed, oak-leaf wreath edging encompassing a smooth field with an embossed national eagle with out-stretched wings, clutching a wreathed, canted swastika in its talons, positioned above a crossed spade and sword which are in turn positioned above a pillbox to the obverse. The reverse also has the embossed, oak-leaf wreath edging which encompasses embossed, Latin script, "Für Arbeit zum Schutze Deutschlands", (For Work on the Defenses of Germany), on a smooth background field. The medal loop and the ribbon suspension ring are both intact and come complete with the original ribbed rayon ribbon. Also included is the issue envelope. Has the issue certificate with the soldiers name. Also included is the research on this soldier.     Original WWII German Helmet Recovered Near Brecourt Manor Normandy D-Day Band Of Brothers. A fantastic relic in good condition, M-40 German helmet with liner and chinstrap. No decal and some of the paint has worn off from decades of handling (see photos). This was an early battlefield pickup and was in an older French collection. It was recovered at the hamlet of La Grand Chemin just outside of St. Marie Du Mont and next to Brecourt Manor. This is where "Easy Company" of the 101st Airborne (Band of Brothers) gathered just before the assault on the German battery at Brecourt Manor led by Lt. Dick Winters.     SOLD Original WWII German Mauser Rifle (Inert) Recovered In Normandy D-Day Relic. A true D-Day/Normandy campaign relic. A WWII German main battle rifle the K-98 Mauser. This relic was recovered at The Crisbecq Battery behind Utah Beach in Normandy France. Prior to the Invasion of Normandy, the battery was subject to frequent aerial bombardments but it was still operational on D-Day, 6 June 1944. On this day, the battery was engaged in combat with the Allied naval and landing forces on Utah Beach. During the course of the battle, it sank the USS Corry and damaged several other ships. The battery came under attack from the American 4th Infantry Division on 7 June. Under the leadership of Walter Ohmsen, the crew of the battery defended itself until 11 June. On 12 June, soldiers of the 9th Infantry Division, started their attack and eventually captured the battery. The Gettysburg Museum of History obtained this rifle several years ago from the current owner who now operates it as a museum.     Scarce Combat Used German WWII Type-1 Africa Corps Tropical Pith Helmet U.S. Veteran Bringback. First pattern tropical pith helmet, with a formed, cork core covered in a ribbed, tan cotton twill. The helmet features a six panel, vertically seamed, tan cotton twill crown with a horizontal band stitched at the rear center at the juncture of the crown and the all around visor. The helmet has two stamped alloy shields with a national eagle to the left side and a national tri-color shield to the right side with some loss (see photos) . The national eagle shield features a high relief, embossed, silver washed, Wehrmacht style eagle with down-swept wings, on a slightly textured, black painted, background field. The national tri-color shield features three diagonally angled bars in the colors of red, white, and black on a slightly textured background field. Nice complete leather sweatband and chinstrap. Shows the expected age and wear on the rim and leather sweatband. A true used U.S. Veteran bringback. Not a common surplus unused type 2 that is seen.     Original WWII Relic Cricket Recovered In Normandy The Ultimate Airborne D-Day Relic. Original WWII D-Day signaling device also known as a "Cricket". These metal clickers were used by the 101st Airborne Paratroopers on D-Day as an alternative to verbal "passwords". When a Trooper would encounter someone he was to click the cricket once as a challenge. This challenge was to answered by two clicks by the other person. If there was no answer he was assumed to be an enemy soldier. They became famous because of the movie "The Longest Day". John Wayne was shown using a Cricket in the film. Since the US 101st Airborne who used them only used them on D-Day they are extremely rare. Most were discarded by the soldiers after D-Day. Considered one of the ultimate D-Day relics, fake or replicas can be easily obtained. This is a very rare chance to obtain a true original. This example was recovered near Hiesville in Normandy near the site of General Pratt's crash. This is just outside St. Marie Du Mont. The original owner who found this cricket with a metal detector chose to clean it with a wire brush and replace the missing bottom snap plate. Some minor loss to the back (see photos) Still a fantastically rare and desirable artifact.     SOLD Original WWII German M-40 Single Decal Camo Relic Helmet Recovered At Normandy D-Day. A fantastic relic from D-Day recovered near the Marmion Farm at Ravenoville Normandy France. The helmet is a German Army M-40 single decal (removed, see photo) camouflage painted helmet. It has some pitting and most of the paint and decal is lost. The liner is partly there but in rough shape. This is a barn find about 20 years ago. The remarkable thing is the recovery location. This helmet was found near the very famous Marmion farm where many photos of US Paratroopers were taken on D-Day June 6, 1944. See photos taken in Ravenoville above. This is known as Ravenoville (near Sainte Mere Eglise). This came from an old collection in France and was obtained by The Gettysburg Museum of History during one of our relic collection trips there about 4 years ago. A nice documented D-Day helmet from the most historic locations in Normandy. 100% guaranteed to be authentic.     SOLD Original WWII German Luftwaffe Gravy Bowl And Two Ladles With Luftwaffe Eagle. Standard,  white glazed stoneware construction mess hall gravy bowl. The bottom of the bowl is well marked with black, print under glaze, Luftwaffe eagle flank by the letters, "Fl." and "U.V", indicating, Flieger Unterkunft Verwaltung, (Flight Barracks Administration). The bottom of the gravy bowl also has the black, print under glaze, manufacturer's name, manufacturer mark, as well as being marked "1936.". The bowl is in overall very good condition with some moderate age toning and storage and use surface scratching. Plus 2 (two) piece, tooled, natural aluminum construction gravy serving ladle features a  nicely, contoured, handle,  The handle is well marked with an impressed, early pattern, Luftwaffe eagle.     Original WWII German Army Belt And Buckle Dated 1938 Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran

    Original WWII German Army Belt And Buckle Dated 1938 Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran. 1938 dated injection molded, aluminum construction box buckle with a pebbled background field and a slightly domed, embossed central motif. The central motif features an embossed Wehrmacht style eagle with down swept wings, clutching a canted swastika in it’s talons, on a subtly pebbled field to the center, encompassed by an embossed oak-leaf cluster to the bottom and script, "Gott Mit Uns", (God With Us), to the top. The oak-leaf cluster and script are on a ribbed background field and are encircled by both an inner and outer simulated twisted rope border. The reverse of the buckle has the integral, raised, slotted buckle catch and separate prong bar and prongs all intact. The buckle has no visible manufacturer’s markings. The spike is attached to a cloverleaf design enlisted base plate. The wappenshield front plate is zinc and features the Imperial Prussian eagle. The side rosettes, one indicating the state colors of Prussia, attach the black leather chinstrap. The interior features an enlisted style leather liner.  The front visor and rear neck lobster tail are trimmed with zink. The liner is original leather a few of the fingers are missing. The reverse centerpiece has the embossed date,"1939", which is also encompassed by a nicely detailed oak-leaf wreath. The background field of both the obverse and reverse centerpieces is smooth while the arms of the cross have a pebbled background field with raised, smooth, outer edges.     Sold Original WWII German Heer (Army) Officer's Sword Brought Home by A U.S. Veteran.  This example is roughly, 87cm long, slightly curved, drop forged steel construction, nickel/silver plated blade with narrow, shallow fullers running three quarters of the way up both sides of the blade. The blade is in overall very good condition and is still very clean. . The saber has die cast alloy langets, cross guard, ferrule, "P", knuckle bow, back-strap and "lion’s head" pommel was cleaned at one time. The obverse rounded tip, shield shaped langet has an embossed right facing national eagle with out-stretched wings that extend outwards on the obverse of the cross guard. The lion’s head pommel features a nicely detailed mane and pronounced snout with inset red glass eyes and the top of the knuckle bow is inserted into the lion’s mouth. The saber has a molded black bakelite grip with a central bulge, and repeating, recessed horizontal grooves with twisted wire wrap. The saber comes with its original, black painted, sheet metal construction scabbard. The scabbard retains about 60% of its black paint. The scabbard has an integral drag to the bottom edge and a sweated on horizontal scabbard band near the top edge with a raised rectangular suspension bar to the reverse and a suspension ring to the reverse edge.     SOLD Original German 1st Pattern Luftwaffe (Air Force) Dagger With Chain And Scabbard.  Early, roughly 31cm long, bright, nickel/silver plated, drop forged steel, double edged, stiletto style blade with a flat central plane. The blade is still very bright and clean and shows minimal light surface scratching and scabbard runners. There is no maker mark present on the blade.  The original pebbled, blue leather washer is intact. The dagger has a cast, nickel/silver plated alloy crossguard and pommel. The crossguard is in the form of extended, horizontal, down swept, stylized wings with a raised, central, circular panel with a gilt washed, sunwheel swastika to each side of the circular panel. The formed wooden grip is wrapped in blue Moroccan leather (shows wear) with dual twisted nickel/silver plated wire wrap flanked by a single strand of straight wire to both the top and bottom edges. The circular pommel also has gilt washed, sunwheel swastikas to each side. The dagger comes complete with its original, blue Moroccan leather wrapped scabbard with three nickel/silver plated alloy fittings. All scabbard screws are complete. The top and center fittings each have a hanger ring and an integral nickel/silver plated alloy hanger with nine circular links to the top hanger and fourteen circular links to the bottom hanger. Both the top and bottom chain link hangers are attached to a nickel/silver plated alloy friction clip. 1st pattern daggers are much more scarce and desirable than the common 2nd pattern versions. The front center of the cap has a silver washed, stamped aluminum, second pattern, national eagle. The front center of the centerband has a second pattern, stamped, polished natural aluminum, oak-leaf wreath encompassing a three piece, high relief, national tri-color cockade. The cap has a blackened patent leather chinstrap intact with two, black painted, rectangular, sheet metal retaining clips and two black painted, vertically oval, sliding length adjustment buckles. The chinstrap is secured to the cap by two, small, smooth finish, black painted, magnetic sheet metal buttons. The cap has an extended, black lacquered vulcanfibre visor with a subtly raised lip at the forward edge. The interior of the cap is fully lined in gold silk/rayon.The interior of the cap also has a complete original leather sweatband. The left side of the helmet has a black lined, Wehrmacht eagle decal which is painted over. The right side of the helmet at one time had a national tri-color decal that is painted over.     SOLD Original U.S. veteran bring back German SA dagger. SA dagger with a 22.5cm long, double-edged, drop-forged, nickel-silver plated blade, in its original scabbard. Blade is in nice condition still showing its original cross graining and has the expected scabbard runner marks. The dagger has a cast, solid nickel-silver pommel and tang nut. Its contoured wooden grip has, inlaid to its obverse, the enameled "SA" signet near the pommel, and an nickle silver eagle and swastika to its center. "Alles für Deutschland" (Everything for Germany) is acid etched, in Gothic script, to the front of the blade. Blade is maker marked "M7/80" & "39"for 1939. The dagger comes with its original brown enamel painted sheet metal scabbard with nickel/silver plated sheet metal fittings. All of the domed head scabbard screws are intact.
