ADOLF HITLER SIGNED BOOK TO ONE ‘ANNELIESE’ FOR HER B-DAY HITLER ONLY VERY, VERY RARELY SIGNED BOOKS OTHER THAN HIS ‘MEIN KAMPF’ Rare, signed book: ‘Diego Velazquez und Sein Jahrhundert’ (‘Diego Velazquez and His Century’) by Carl Justi (Zürich: Phaedon-Verlag), 798pp. with an additional 143pp. of plates of the artist’s works, blue cloth with gilt title, spine sunned a bit. An exhaustive study of the Spaniard’s life and work, signed on the front flyleaf ‘Meiner lieben Anneliese zum 25. Geburtstag – Adolf Hitler’ (‘My dear Anneliese to her 25th birthday Adolf Hitler). Very good. The recipient is one ‘Anneliese von L.’ (1909-1939) a woman who ‘maintained a lively relationship with leading personalities from politics, business and culture’. There are known letters written by Hitler to this same woman dated 1924 while in Landsberg prison. Very good condition. Hitler only very, very rarely signed books other than his ‘Mein Kampf’. The fact that he fashioned himself an artist and presented this book on a fellow artist to a lady he knew from at least 1924 is especially interesting. Signed Hitler books are nearly impossible to find. Hitler signed a tiny number of his books compared to postcards and photos. Complete museum documentation (COA) Provided.
