Original WWII German RARE NSKK “Ground Rohm” Dagger Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified

    $895.00
Original German NSKK Rare "Ground Rohm" Dagger Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified.  In 1934 Ernst Röhm instituted a honor dagger for members serving in the SA and NSKK prior to December 1931. The dagger was identical in every respect to the standard SA/NSKK dagger with the exception that it had the inscription "In Herzlicher Freundschaft Ernst Röhm" to the reverse of the blade. After Röhm’s fall from power during the "The night of the long knives" in 1934, all SA/NSKK personal where ordered to remove the inscription. Surviving examples can sometimes be found,  the majority of the daggers had it completely ground off.  This early Carl Eickhorn example has excellent nickel crossguards being the in house variety produced by Eickhorn. These guards have good smooth surfaces, crisp edges and the very deep hand done accent grooves we usually see with this maker. Additionally the guards are marked internally “H.E.”. The tang nut does not look to have been apart  on this dagger. The lower reverse crossguard is gruppe marked “Ho”. The grip is a fine medium brown colored fruitwood. It shows some usage signs but overall it is still in excellent condition having a good close graining which runs vertical. The grip fits the crossguards fairly nice but Eickhorns aren’t known for always having a perfect fit. The SA runes button is in good condition and the early grip eagle is the high-necked variety having full details to the eye, breast feathering, wing feathering, legs, wreath and raised mobile swastika. Not a bad hilt here. The scabbard shell is straight throughout. It has old original black paint which was originally done when the NSKK ordered their SA scabbards painted. This paint  is nice with some spidering but minimal loss. These nickel mounts exactly match the patination of the crossguards. They are in good condition throughout to include the lower ball. The lower mount appears to have its original screws. The upper mount has a later style domehead screw. The blade of this example is still mostly bright having a few stains on the obverse as well as the reverse. The Röhm inscription appears to have been completely ground off of this blade. There was no attempt to regrain the area so the inscription points are fairly rough. The owner really must have wanted the Rohm inscription GONE! It is possible to see the original graining though in all the areas where the grounding did not occur. The trademark is the early oval type that has a seated squirrel with serrated tail. The crossguard contours perfectly fit the blade shoulders. An original “as found” untouched Röhm dagger. Come with a single piece hanger,  (see photo). This is fresh to the collector's market, and has never been touched or polished or shined, or taken apart.  This is the way we like them! If you ever wanted a rare untouched ground Rohm NSKK dagger this is your chance! U.S. Veteran bring-back condition. Gettysburg Museum Certified (COA) provided. Rare 100% Guaranteed to be authentic pre-1935.  Sold for historic purposes only. Original WWII German Army Wehrmacht NCO/OFFICER’S BREAST EAGLE Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified

    $79.00
Original WWII German Army Wehrmacht NCO/OFFICER'S BREAST EAGLE Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified. The German army originally adopted a slightly modified version of the NSDAP’s national eagle by order on February 17TH 1934, with instructions to have it applied to all steel helmets, visor caps, and tunics by May 1ST 1934. Later amendments to the introductory order stipulated that the national eagle was also to be worn on all field caps, the sports uniform and the black panzer wrap. The eagle came in three distinct designs with two having slightly different out-stretched wings and the third with down-swept wings. Generally Officer’s ranks utilized hand or machine embroidered breast eagles while EM/NCO’s ranks utilized machine embroidered or woven breast eagles. The early, standard issue, EM/NCO’s M36 breast eagles were in white threads and were to be abolished in 1939 to be replaced with a less visible grey M39 breast eagle but the changeover was never fully completed. This pattern was primarily utilized on the service dress uniform and the M35 dress tunic but it can also be encountered on field blouses. Machine woven, national breast eagle with outstretched wings, clutching a wreathed, canted, swastika in it’s talons in bright, silver/aluminum flat-wire threads on a cut-out, woven, blue/green rayon base which is machine stitched on a blue/green badge cloth backing.  Excellent condition slight moth nip on back, does not effect the front.   Complete museum documentation (COA) Provided. Certified by The Gettysburg Museum of History. 100% guaranteed to be authentic pre-1945. The Gettysburg Museum of History does not support or condone Adolf Hitler or the Nazi Party and is only offering this as a historic relic. SOLD   Original WWII German Red Cross Hewer (Dagger) Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified. The DRK, "Deutsches Rotes Kreuz" (German Red Cross), a voluntary civil assistance organization originally instituted in 1864, was officially acknowledged by the Geneva Convention in 1929, and in December of 1937 it was legally recognized by the NSDAP, becoming controlled by them a year later under the auspices of the Ministry of the Interior’s Social Welfare Organization. Due to its non-combatant status, it had to conform to the international Geneva Convention, which directed that its members not carry any weapons, including edged weapons. As a result, the DRK Subordinate’s hewer, introduced in 1938, was designed with a squared tip to preclude its classification as a weapon, allowing its wear in the field. It was worn by the ranks of "DRK-Anwärter" to "DRK-Haupthelfer". The hewer features a roughly, 10 1/2", (26.6 cm), long, broad, squared, blunt tipped, nickel/silver plated, drop forged, steel construction blade with deep, wide, fullers, a staggered, saw-toothed, edge, a large, flat, ricasso and a full length, including the hilt, of roughly, 15 5/8", (39.6 cm). The blade has some condition issues including the veteran who brought it home (not knowing it was not suppose to have a point made a point)!.  The cast alloy construction, cross guard, languets, and pommel all have a matte, nickel/silver plated finish (some loss). The obverse, vertically oval, languet has a raised, smooth, outer edge encompassing an embossed second pattern, (Circa 1938-1945), DRK style national eagle with down-swept wings, a highly embossed swastika to it’s breast, and a traditional Greek style cross in it’s talons, on a slightly recessed, pebbled, field.  The reverse, vertically oval, languet also has the raised, smooth, outer edge encompassing a slightly recessed, smooth field. The short, horizontally extended, cross guard features two, evenly spaced, deeply recessed, horizontal, lines near both the top and bottom edges. The unique shaped, horizontally oval, integral, plain pommel is intact. The hewer has molded, black, bakelite grips held in place by two, countersunk screws. The obverse grip features a repeating, diamond grooved pattern and the reverse grip is plain. The hewer comes with it’s original, black painted (has been period re- painted), magnetic sheet metal scabbard with matte, nickel/silver plated top and bottom fittings. Both the top and bottom fittings are secured to the scabbard by two, small, dome headed screws. Also looks like the Veteran had some sort of tag on the scabbard. Maker marked. Overall this is an entry level Red Cross Hewer with some condition issues but lots of character. We have priced this one accordingly. • Original WWII German Clasp To The Iron Cross 2nd Class Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified

SOLD   Original WWII German Clasp To The Iron Cross 2nd Class Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified. On September 1ST 1939 Hitler once more reinstituted the Iron Cross series of awards in the First and Second Classes and established the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross and two new Spangen, (Bars), for the first and second class awards to be bestowed to recipients of the 1939 Iron Cross who had also been awarded a first or second class 1914 Iron Cross during WWI. Originally the first pattern of this award had slightly scalloped tips to the ends of the date bar which was soon replaced with the second pattern award with diagonally angled ends. Recipients of an Iron Cross Bar were permitted, with the proper documentation, to privately purchase a jeweler’s copy of the award, at their own expense, if so desired. Due to the prestige of the award personnel who could afford it would opt to buy a jeweler’s copy for everyday wear with the actual award being put away for safe keeping. Nicely detailed, second pattern, die struck alloy construction award with a polished nickel/silver plated finish. The award is in the form of a national eagle with outstretched wings, clutching an oak-leaf wreath which encompasses a canted swastika above a horizontal, trapezoidal, date bar with diagonally angled ends, and embossed institution date, "1939". The award shows nice detailing including feathering to the eagles wings and a subtly textured background field to the swastika and the date bar. $59.00
Scarce Early Left Facing WWII German Hat Eagle Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified . Visor caps were a standard item for all personnel during the Third Reich period and regulations dictated the form of dress they were to be worn with based on the individuals rank.
