This balloon is in the Big Red One Museum in Normandy. This is a piece of that balloon, barrage balloons were attached to large steel cables and prevented German planes from striking landing ships and  forcing them to fly higher.     Original WWII U.S. Large .50 caliber bullet from Omaha Beach. We have a few relic .50 caliber bullets we are deaccessioning from our collection. These large U.S. bullets were found at the "Fox Green" sector of Omaha Beach sea wall.  This is the area that the Big Red One (1st Division) fought on June 6, 1944 D-Day. Relics from directly out of Omaha Beach are very rare.
