Original RARE Turkish (Axis German) WWI Gallipoli Star Maker Marked Certified By The Gettysburg Museum Of History. The Gallipolli Star is a military decoration awarded by the Ottoman Empire. It was known as the Ottoman War Medal (Turkish: Harp Madalyası) or the Iron Crescent (from German Eiserner Halbmond, in allusion to the Iron Cross). This decoration was awarded for the duration of World War I to Ottoman and other Central Powers troops, primarily in Ottoman areas of engagement. The medal, made of nickel-plated brass, has a vaulted star-shaped badge, 56 mm across the diagonal span of the arms. The tips of the star are capped by ball finials and enclosed in a raised silver edge with the field in red lacquer or enamel. A raised crescent, open at the top, encircles the center of the badge. • Original WWII German Waffen SS Officer’s Visor Cap Skull Certified By The Gettysburg Museum Of History

SOLD Original WWII German Waffen SS Officer's Visor Cap Skull Certified By The Gettysburg Museum Of History. We make the call of this being an Officer's skull because  this is a battlefield recovered example and only officer's would wear visor caps in combat situations. 1934 SS pattern, stamped alloy construction skull with a silver wash. The skull features detailed eye and nose cut-outs, two rows of teeth and bottom jaw, superimposed over crossed bones. The skull also has subtle cranium and bone detailing. The skull retains all of its original silver wash. The hollow backed reverse of the skull is a mirror image of the obverse. The prongs are securely crimped in place, and then soldered, as usually seen on Overhoff made CupAl SS Cap Skulls. The prongs are made of Tombak (Brass), and exhibit both the makers RZM code of “M1/24”, as well as the characteristic three dashes on the pin itself. It is unknown what caused these dashes, but it is a common trait on most Overhoff produced metal insignia prongs. The reverse of the skull also shows the maker mark “M1/24”, a well as the RZM Logo in raised relief.  The reverse retains one of it's two of its original attachment prongs. Nice example, outstanding for a battlefield recovered skull. If you want one that was actually "there" and saw battle this is for you! Some mild pitting and loss to silver wash and one prong otherwise good. Complete museum documentation (COA) Provided. Certified by The Gettysburg Museum of History. The Gettysburg Museum of History does not support or condone Adolf Hitler or the Nazi Party and is only offering this as a historic relic.
