Shop original SS helmets for sale from the Gettysburg Museum of History’s collection. Waffen-SS combat helmets are the M35, M40 and M42 shells worn by the rest of the German armed forces, set apart by their decals: the SS runes shield on the right side and, on earlier helmets, the black and red party shield on the left. Allgemeine-SS parade and service helmets in black are rarer still.
Because SS decals are the most faked marking in German militaria, each helmet here is examined for period decal application, paint, liner and stamping before the museum certifies it, and the listing photographs show those details closely. Sold helmets remain online as a reference archive.
