Original Civil War Period Cap And Ball .69 Caliber steel lock Antique Pistol Certified. Civil War Period monster BIG .69 caliber Cap And Ball  Pistol. In Working  condition  Civil War period  pistol .  It is a standard  version with plane wood frame and steel lock and trigger guard.   This gun’s spring is tight and it does work and does fire and cock. Excellent strong spring! the lock is slightly worn but nice.  Still has the ram rod.  Has a nice engraving on the lock plate and initials on the backstrap plate   The gun is about .69  caliber. a .69 Civil War rifle  bullet fits in the barrel’s but it’s a bit loose so I am saying .69- .70 caliber. A real HAND CANNON! May have been varnised at some point but it looks great!  Many European weapons were exported to the US for sale before and during the Civil War. Most likely Irish made. A classic Civil War period pistol and A choice functioning display gun.  A favorite of both Confederate and Union soldiers during the Civil War.
