Birthday Greetings  From Himmler! Outstanding VERY HISTORIC Heinrich Himmler Autograph On His Personal Card.  Heinrich Himmler  (1900 – 1945) Hitler’s Chief of the SS and Gestapo placed in charge of security and responsible for the construction and operation of extermination camps. He chose suicide rather than face a hangman’s noose at Nuremberg. Printed Text “MEINE HERZLICHEN WÜNSCHE ZUM WEIHNACHTSFEST UND FÜR DAS KAMPFJAHR 1942” Translation: “My heartfelt wishes for Christmas and for the year of struggle 1942.” This kind of phrase was typical of Nazi-era propaganda language, where even holiday greetings were tied to the war effort. ⸻ Handwritten Portion The handwriting is old German cursive (Kurrent/Sütterlin style), which is challenging to decipher. The first part appears to be a holiday greeting: “Mit famiiilichen Grüßen!” (Likely meant: “With cordial greetings!” or “With heartfelt greetings!”) Below that is the signature. “H. Himmler” This would indicate Heinrich Himmler, Reichsführer-SS, one of the highest-ranking leaders of Nazi Germany. Cards like this, bearing his printed greeting with a handwritten note and signature, were sometimes issued to SS members, high-ranking officials, or close associates. The Himmler signature is VERY LARGE and VERY Dark.
