Original Nice Struck Civil War Excavated Relic U.S. Box Plate Recovered In Virginia Certified. A great dug plate For the collector who wants an authentic battlefield ground dug relic. A very nice chocolate brown  patina. This plate was struck during the period (not a digger shovel strike) from a bullet, ball, or possibly from case shot or cannister. The patina matched all over so what ever happened to it was done back then bending it also.  A solid plate from a Civil War historical area . This is an older recovered box plate. A very historic recovery location and a very nice looking plate.   Recovered what was then off National Park property and is 100% Legal and 100% authentic. One of the two hooks are broken and it looks great, in excellent relic condition.  This is one of the better early pick-up box plates from an old collection. U.S. plates this historic are very difficult to find and only come from old collections.
