  • Original Rare Civil War Infantry Hardee Hat Certified By The Gettysburg Museum Of History

SOLD Original Rare Civil War Infantry Hardee Hat Certified By The Gettysburg Museum Of History. An excellent find, an authentic Civil War Hardee hat in good condition. The has has some minor moth nips and a small hole on one side but no cuts. Meaning this hat was not one re-constructed from a surplus "Bannerman" hat. This was a true war-time worn hat. The sweatband inside is a bit loose and has some loose as does the top label area (see photos). The insignia looks to have been on from a very long time although we are unsure if it was on it always. It is the correct authentic Civil War Infantry horn insignia and the Hardee hat "Jefferson" side eagle pin. The hat cord is the correct Infantry blue cord with tassels and the feather is correct (it is loose from the hat but sits on it nicely). This hat surfaced in Indiana and that is "Iron Brigade" territory. It has no regiment numerals but could be from the 19th Indiana (Iron Brigade) who wore this type of hat. A fantastic authentic Civil War Hardee hat with lots of character as we know authentic Civil War head gear in any for is scarce and rare.  Don’t miss this unique opportunity. 100% guaranteed to be authentic Gettysburg Museum certified, museum COA provided.  Also note when browsing our web site there are several pages of items, at the bottom of the list look for other page numbers.
