A stamped brass lead filled mid-war (1863) model U.S. belt buckle with "arrow" hooks. This plate has a nice medium patina and has not been cleaned, looks fantastic! This plate looks to be combat worn and not a surplus left over (see photos).     Original Civil War Bullet Recovered At Gettysburg Made Into An Antique Stanhope Early Souvenir Certified. An original very early pickup Gettysburg bullet made into a stanhope of the Pennsylvania Monument. Stanhope bullets were made shortly after the Civil War until the early 2oth century.  Shortly after the end of the Civil War, bullets were gathered up from the battlefield stanhope lenses (complete with a variety of images) were ordered from a French manufacturer. The lenses were then locally installed by relic shops. You place the bullet up to your eye and look toward light and the image appears! This artifact is original and  The bullet exhibits nice early picup patina. A prized item for civil war collectors and enthusiasts as well as stanhope collectors. The image inside is the Pennsylvania monument and is very much like the image we show. We tried to get a photo of the mini stanhope but could not. The image is excellent and clear.     SOLD Original Civil War Artillery Grease/Tar Bucket With Chain And Lid Certified By The Gettysburg Museum Of History. This heavy-duty cylindrical implement is a Civil War iron grease bucket carried as part the equipment of an artillery gun crew. The grease bucket measures 7” in diameter and stands 8” high. A metal cover or lid is secured to the top of the bucket with four rivets. Lid has a 3½” diameter opening that is capped with a pivoting metal cover that has a flattened closure tab.   A 10” long heavy-duty link chain serves as the bucket handle. Chain has a large 2” diameter O-ring that allows the bucket to be hung from the bottom of the limber. In excellent condition some paint flaking and a weak point at the lid hinge but the lid is still very intact. Some mild pitting on the inside of the bucket.     SOLD Very Rare Civil War Explosive Bullet Relic in excellent condition.  One of the rarest and most desirable Civil War bullets the Gardner Explosive .58 caliber bullet.The bullet was cast around a copper bottle shaped insert with hole at bottom. It was filled with fine grain powder. When rifle was fired, the fuse ignited and caused explosion about 1- 1/4 seconds after firingMost Gardner explosive rounds were dug around Chancellorsville and Gettysburg. The recovery location on this one was not recorded.  They were unpopular with soldiers, they were thought of as being "unfair" or "barbaric". They were also feared by some when rumors circulated that a solider's cartridge box exploded after being struck while carrying "Explosive Bullets".     Original Civil War Ames 1833 Artillery Short Sword With Early Buff Belt Rig Certified

    Original Civil War Ames 1833 Artillery Short Sword With Early Buff Belt Rig Certified. A fine solid example of the Artillery Short Sword and scabbard. 100% original and complete except the scabbard tip. Blade is very nice markings are very legible. Clearly legible on the blade is the US and JCB inspector stamping and the  date is very well struck with all of the 1833 visible. Other side of blade has the eagle clearly visible and strong . As for the firm marking the “N.P Ames" firm marking is all there. The blade is excellent. The brass handle and guard are excellent. The brass mounted leather scabbard is solid and whole with just some surface crazing in the finish on the leather. The scabbard tip is gone. The White buff rig is excellent the leather is very pliable and moves very easy. No cracks or bad spots at all. Has stampings  inside and the owners name can faintly be seen (see photos). Has some soiling to the all white/buff otherwise excellent. From a very old collection.     Original Rare Civil War Infantry Hardee Hat Certified By The Gettysburg Museum Of History

    Original Rare Civil War Infantry Hardee Hat Certified By The Gettysburg Museum Of History. An excellent find, an authentic Civil War Hardee hat in good condition. The has has some minor moth nips and a small hole on one side but no cuts. Meaning this hat was not one re-constructed from a surplus "Bannerman" hat. This was a true war-time worn hat. The sweatband inside is a bit loose and has some loose as does the top label area (see photos). The insignia looks to have been on from a very long time although we are unsure if it was on it always. It is the correct authentic Civil War Infantry horn insignia and the Hardee hat "Jefferson" side eagle pin. The hat cord is the correct Infantry blue cord with tassels and the feather is correct (it is loose from the hat but sits on it nicely). This hat surfaced in Indiana and that is "Iron Brigade" territory. It has no regiment numerals but could be from the 19th Indiana (Iron Brigade) who wore this type of hat.     The Bullet Contained Within this Display Was Found Near The Homestead Orphanage On Cemetery Hill, Gettysburg. The wood is from the Homestead Orphanage .This is also the Building Where General O.O. Howard Had His Headquarters During The Battle Of Gettysburg. This Building Later Became The Homestead Orphanage. The Children Of Sgt. Amos Humiston Along With Many Orphans Of The Civil War Lived In This Building. This In The 1950’s This Building Became “The Charlie Weaver/Soldier’s Museum”. Pictured On The Front Of This Display Is A Copy Of The Original Photo Of The Building That Is In The Gettysburg Museum Of History. It Shows General Grant Visiting The Orphanage And The Children After The Civil War. Both The Wood And Bullet are 100% Authentic Bullet found pre-National Park and is 100% legal to own. A wonderful and rare set. This display comes matted and framed in a Riker display (collectors glass case). Mat color may vary. Great size 8″/12″ Comes museum documentation (COA).
