Original Civil War Period Cap And Ball .44 Caliber steel lock Antique HORSE Pistol Certified. Civil War Period VERY FANCY .44 caliber Cap And Ball  Pistol. In Working  condition  Civil War period era pistol .  It is a standard  version with very nice wood frame and nickel silver inlaid with steel lock and trigger guard. This gun’s spring is tight and it does work and does fire and cock. Excellent strong spring! the lock is slightly worn but nice.  Still has the attached ram rod for use while mounted on a horse. Also has a compartment on the bottom for caps!  The gun is about .44 caliber. . A real FANCY HAND CANNON!  Many European weapons were exported to the US for sale before and during the Civil War. Most likely European  made. A classic Civil War period pistol and A choice functioning display gun.  A favorite of both Confederate and Union soldiers during the Civil War.
