Original WWII Japanese RISING SUN FLAG Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified. Most Japanese troops during the second world war carried a personal flag. They had practical as well as patriotic uses, such as marking positions to keep them safe from friendly aircraft while advancing. One piece example is 9” x 12′. An approximately A 4″ diameter red “rising sun ” is screened to the center of the flag’s white field. THIS IS ON THICK CANVAS. It is painted or screened making us think this is for a torpedo boat or a small boat the withstand the wind.     A very interesting flag.
