A very nice black/brown patina. A solid plate from a very historical battlefield. This is an older recovered belt plate. A very historic recovery location and a very nice looking plate. Belt buckles are 4x more rare than cartridge box plates. When we went through old collections like this there are about 3 box plates for every 1 belt plate! Recovered what was then off National Park property and is 100% Legal and 100% authentic. all of the 3 of the hooks are present and it looks great, in good relic condition (see photos). This is one of the better early pick-up belt plates from an old collection. U.S. plates this nice are very difficult to find and only come from old collections.
