Very Nice Original Non-Excavated Civil War U.S. Box Plate With Maker Mark Certified By The Gettysburg Museum Of History. A stamped brass lead filled   U.S. box plate.   These plate has a nice deep patina and looks like it has not been cleaned for a long time, looks fantastic! It has the scarce maker mark “H.A. Dingee: stamped into the back of the plate.  This plate looks to be combat worn and not a surplus left over (see photos). This plate would have most likely came home with a a solider and it is NOT excavated from a battle (NOT dug from the ground).  100% authentic.  Both  hooks   are present and it looks great, in excellent used condition.
