Original Gettysburg Battlefield Witness Wood From General Lee’s Headquarters
Original Gettysburg Battlefield Witness Wood From General Lee’s Headquarters. A nice piece of wood from the tree that grew next to General Lee’s Headquarters known as the General Lee Witness Tree. These were cut in the 1950’s when the tree went down to sell at the Museum shop at Lee’s Headquarters. Some are stamped some are not. We bought them directly from the former owners of Lee’s Headquarters. Lee’s Headquarters has now been purchased by the Civil War Trust and will be donated back the The Gettysburg National Military Park making this a unique and rare artifact. A “Witness Tree” was one that was there and standing during the battle. Certified by The Gettysburg Museum of History. Museum documentation (C.O.A.) included.
