Original WWII Japanese Type 30 Bayonet And Frog Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran. Japanese Type 30 bayonet and scabbard.  No markings are evident to the head of the blued, flat-sided bird’s head pommel with a button release. The lightly age-darkened, contoured wraparound wooden grips are fixed with two rivets. The blued, hooked contoured metal cross guard has a circular muzzle guide. The 40cm fullered bright blade. The maker’s mark to the ricasso. The first pattern sheet metal scabbard, with a ball tip and with a rounded strap band, retains little of its original bluing. Comes with nice but very stiff original leather frog.
