Original WWII German Army Wehrmacht Heer Gold Bullion Embroidered General Breast Eagle Certified. An excellent Wehrmacht Heer General Rank Uniform Breast Wehrmachtadler (Armed Forces Eagle) insignia, hand embroidered in gold bullion. These would be attached to the chest of the uniform worn by ranks of Generalmajor (or corps equivalent) and up in the Heer officer hierarchy. It has the correct dark blue-green flaschengrün (bottle-green) Abzeichentuch (badge cloth) color, used from 1935 onward. This is what distinguishes it from a Kriegsmarine eagle, which had black backgrounds (the photos were difficult to bring out the green background but it is 100% green for General).  It shows no signs of having been attached to a uniform, and still has the original paper backing. There is just a bit of oxidation to the lovely bullion thread. Measures 4″W X 1 3/4″H including the felt background.
