RARE Original WWII German REICHSBAHN OFFICER’S BELT BUCKLE. (Koppelschloß) Certified.  After Hitler’s accession to power in 1933 he immediately began a restructuring of the national railway system and by early 1937 had succeeded in achieving a centralized efficient National Railway. With this restructuring new uniforms and insignia were introduced for railway personnel in 1933. Additional items of insignia were introduced and modified at various times throughout the war. The round buckle was Introduced in 1940 for wear by RBD officers. Buckle was worn on the black leather belt for service dress and the brocade belt for dress wear. A roughly 47mm diameter, stamped zinc, circular buckle with a gold gilt wash. Wash is retained about 89% with wear to highlights. Buckle features the RBD winged wheel below a swastika, encompassed by a laurel leaf wreath. Belt hardware is intact.
