    Original WWII Paratrooper M-42 Jacket Worn By An 82nd Airborne Sergeant Certified By The Gettysburg Museum Of History. An outstanding 100% authentic WWII Airborne Paratrooper M-42 Jump Jacket. This is the early WWII jacket worn in training, Italy, and Normandy (D-Day). by operation Market Garden (Holland) they switched to to green color M-43 jacket and wore them for the rest of the war. This is the Normandy era paratrooper jump jacket every collector wants! It is in good condition has no major tears or holes it does have a period (during WWII) repaired zipper. The original waist belt it still intact and it has a solider's laundry stamp on the belt making an I.D. research attempt a possibility. It has the outline of an 82nd Airborne patch and a round patch "ghost" on the chest (possibly 508th PIR). Has the original staff Sgt. stripes.  It is a smaller size (most were in WWII). A great 100% auhentic examle with Gettysburg Museum of History certification. Nice used  example showing the expected  age and wear. 100% Guaranteed to be authentic.  A very collectible jacket. Most Paratroopers did not save these since they started to wear the M-43 coat in the fall of 1944. This is the  classic WWII Normandy (D-Day) era Paratrooper jacket. These large U.S. bullets were found at the "Fox Green" sector of Omaha Beach sea wall.  This is the area that the Big Red One (1st Division) fought on June 6, 1944 D-Day. Relics from directly out of Omaha Beach are very rare.
