Very Nice Original Non-Excavated Civil War U.S. Belt Plate (Buckle) With Leather Belt Remnant,  Certified By The Gettysburg Museum Of History. A stamped brass lead filled model 1863 U.S. belt plate.  These plate has a nice combat used appearance showing wear, This plate is combat worn and not a surplus left over (see photos).. This plate would have most likely came home with a a soldier and it is NOT excavated from a battle (NOT dug from the ground).  It still has part of the leather belt attached! NEVER CLEANED OR POLISHED (The way we like them). Has a use bend on the edge.  100% authentic. All three  hooks are present and it looks great, in excellent used condition.
