This piece was taken by a U.S. Solider and was part of the Dr. Mark Griffith collection. This piece has the proper embossed EB butterfly monogram mark for this piece.  This piece was recovered in the basement bomb shelter of the Berghof. The Berghof  was Hitler’s home at the Obersalzberg Mountain near Berchtesgaden. This item along with several other items was “liberated” in May 1945 by a U.S. Solider.
