Original VERY RARE German NSDAP (NAZI PARTY) BAHNSCHUTZPOLIZEI OFFICER VISOR CAP Certified

Original VERY RARE German NSDAP (NAZI PARTY) BAHNSCHUTZPOLIZEI OFFICER VISOR CAP Certified, The Bahnschutzepolizei, (Railway Protection Police), were established, by the RBD in 1933 with volunteers from the SA and SS, to protect the railway network. Originally they wore a navy blue uniform, but this was eventually changed to blue/grey circa 1941. Bahnschutzpolizei Schirmmütze für Offiziere by Clemens Wagner of Braunschweig. It is constructed out of quality blue-grey wool-tricot blend construction, with a black wool center band and silver bullion piping. Attached to the obverse is a die stamped, aluminum based, silver washed Bahnschutz eagle and multi piece tri-color cockade and a silver aluminum  Bahnschutz winged oak leaf and acorn wreath. To the sides are two peened on multi-piece silvered pebbled aluminum side buttons that hold the proper black/silver aluminum chin cord in place. The front also features a lacquered black patent visor peak with a cross hatched grey underside. The interior features a blue-grey sweatband, that has visible stitching to the edges, . The reverse has a silk bow tie and to the underside of the forehead there is extra padding cloth. The interior base features a blue tricot silk/rayon lining. Above the lining is a clear diamond moisture shield, that remains mostly intact. The lining covers the maker mark, which reads: “Clemens Wagner Fabrik Feiner Uniformmützen”, “CW” and “Braunschweig Zweigwerk Hamburg 6” as well as the size “54”. The left/back edge shows wear and there are a few pin holes.
