Original WWII German RAD MALE’S CAP INSIGNIA. (Mützenabzeichen) Certified. RAD male’s cap insignia as first introduced in metal in 1934 for use on the overseas, M43 and “Robin Hood” style caps. In 1938 machine woven and embroidered versions were introduced and used throughout the war.  Machine woven insignia featuring an upward pointing white spade head bordered in red and white with a canted black swastika to center, flanked by white wheat sheafs to either side. Insignia still on original tan rayon factory roll. Factory roll has machine woven white script which includes “RAJD” in an inverted triangle, “Ges. Gesch” indicating, Gesetzlich Geschützt (Protected by Law), and manufacturers initials, “A.
