Original WWII Japanese Army Field Cap In Good Condition Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified. Wool cloth construction, khaki-colored field cap used by the Japanese army until the end of the war. Above its stiffened, short visor, made of the same material as the body, and with five parallel rows of reinforced stitching to it, is sewn a pentagonal patch, in olive drab, upon which is a yellow gold five-pointed star. Small brass buttons, secure the original chinstrap. Three metal ventilation grommets are to each side of the cap. Three grommets are to either side of the vertical slash to the reverse of the cap; the six bound together by an adjustable leather tie string. The interior is lined in a woven green material sweatband is coming loose in spots (see photos) .
