RARE! Original German SA (Brown Shirts) Uniform and Kepi Certified. Brown was to become the official color of the N.S.D.A.P. and S.A. by circumstance rather than design. A large stockpile of discounted, surplus WWI tropical brown shirts and fabric, intended for wear in East Africa, were located in Austria in 1924 and purchased by the Nazis as a temporary measure to bring uniformity of dress to their party members. In November of 1926 the brown shirt was officially introduced, and retained, as the basic uniform item for the N.S.D.A.P. and S.A., and was eventually adopted by other political organizations such as the H.J., D.A.F., and the N.S.K.K.ย  A Light tan cotton twill construction shirt with a five-button front closure. Shirt features two pleated, patch, breast pockets with scalloped flaps with removable buttons. Sleeves have five tapering darts and fold back French cuffs with dual removable button closure. Darted horizontal waistband with six stitched in, pebbled steel, belt support hooks and single cotton belt loop to reverse center. Upper left sleeve has an early red cotton NSDAP members armband not stitched. Armband has a white circular cotton field with multi-piece swastika. The right shoulder has a late 1934 pattern, sew on shoulder strap consisting of two rows of black and white colored piping on a brown wool base with a golden button. The lay down collar, with twisted cord piping of brown and white, has, to each point, a golden yellow collar tab with white numbers and stripes, both of early 1933 pattern. The right-side collar tab, with white, machine woven unit designation Standarte (Regiment) of the SA- Gruppe Comes with the original 1939 pattern yellow trimmed kepi.ย  ย The chest measures approximately 44″. with a VERY RARE SA Uniform Makers tag.ย  Nice example.ย ย 100% Guaranteed to be authentic Complete Museum documentation (COA) Provided.
