Original WWII German 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified. A desirable second pattern luftwaffe dagger. Measuring approx 43 cm with the scabbard on, this dagger features a 260 mm nickel-plated steel blade, magnetic, diamond shaped, with very sharp edges, remaining bright and crisp, and having a very sharp tip. The  crossguard junction remains intact and the blade only exhibits light wear from extraction and return to the scabbard, natural shine, with scattered surface wear, extremely fine. aluminum hilt fittings are nicely detailed, including the embellished pommel, eagle crossguard and quillon surfaces, with very light contact.  It has a beautifully executed stamped “Robt Klaas Solingen” maker mark! Outstanding white colored celluloid grip, along with ten rows of tightly wound aluminum bullion wire around the grip are free of interruption and in overall good shape  (see photos). Silvered metal scabbard measures 297 mm, magnetic, with a traditional pebbled finish, crisp ball finial, the throat retained by mounted screws. Ball is solid,oak leaf bands with rings, in good condition. Nice period used dagger captured by a U.S. Veteran   and brought home as a war trophy.
