Original German Adolf Hitler   W.H.W. DONATION BADGE. (Winterhilfswerk Abzeichen) Certified. The W.H.W., “Winterhilfswerk” (Winter-help-work), was an annual charitable donation event held by the “N.S.-Volkswohlfahrt” (National Socialist – People’s-welfare) in which personnel from all of the N.S.D.A.P. organizations would solicit donations from the public, and reward contributors with a wide variety of lapel badges. A, 30mm diameter, cast aluminum badge with silver wash whose obverse features a profile portrait of Hitler. A horizontal pin-back device is to its reverse.
