Original German NSDAP (NAZI PARTY) 1939 “STRIERMARK” PROVINCIAL DAY BADGE. (Gautag Abzeichen) Certified. A white bakelite badge, in the form of a 28mm wide shield, surmounted by a golden eagle with a wreathed, mobile swastika in its talons, whose spread wings have a span of 42mm. To the shield, also in gold, is a crowned, lion rampant, above which is “Gautag der NSDAP” (Provincial day [of] the NSDAP), and “Steiermark 1939.” To the reverse is a vertical pin-back device crimped to a small, circular plate, around which is embossed “Richard Sieper & Söhne,” an RZM, “Reichszeugmeisterei” (National-material-control-office), logo followed by an “M9/25” manufacturer’s code, which corresponds with the maker’s name above, with their “Lüdenscheid” location beneath.  A great piece!  Scarce. Nice example showing the expected minor age and wear overall good   condition.  One of the classic desirable collector’s items from the third Reich in used but in good but used condition.
