OUTSTANDING Original Named WWII German M40 COMBAT HELMET. (Stahlhelm M40) Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified.  Regulations of March 21ST 1940 dictated that the national tri-color decal was to be removed from all helmets and further regulations of August 28TH 1943 abolished the Wehrmacht eagle decal and dictated that it was also to be removed from all helmets although the directives were not completely adhered to. The stamped sheet steel construction helmet retains most of its, factory applied,  smooth textured, age darkened field-grey over paint.. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet has super nice M31 leather liner with all  its fingers intact  Marked Q 62 indicating size 62 Maker code is Q for F. W. Quist, G.m.b.H., Esslingen factory. Shows the expected age, wear and use.  In good but used condition . Chin stap is there but has broken see photos.
