Original WWII German M42 COMBAT HELMET. (Stahlhelm M42) Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified
Original WWII German M42 COMBAT HELMET. (Stahlhelm M42) Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified. Regulations of March 21ST 1940 dictated that the national tri-color decal was to be removed from all helmets and further regulations of August 28TH 1943 abolished the eagle decal and dictated that it was also to be removed from all helmets although the directives were not completely adhered to. The stamped sheet steel construction helmet retains most of its, factory applied, slightly rough textured, age darkened field-grey over paint. Left side has a small drip on the factory paint (see photo, not bad but thought we should mention it) . All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet has super nice M31 leather liner with all of its fingers intact size marked 56. Original size adjustment string is present. . .The interior apron has the faint stamped manufacturers code and size 64. has the solider name written on the liner (see photos). The dome stamp inside the helmet is visible (see photo). Shows the expected age, wear and use. Also the US vet wrote his name “PETE” on the front, nut it was removed but a slight trace can barely be seen (see photo). In good but used condition. Gettysburg Museum Certified (COA) provided. 100% Guaranteed to be authentic brought home by a U.S. Veteran. Sold for historic purposes only. See our other pieces on our web site.
