Original German EARLY NSDAP (NAZI PARTY) SA (Brown Shirts) Dagger By J.A. Henckels / Solingen / Zwillingswerk. This early example features excellent nickel-silver cross guards with good smooth surfaces and a nice dull patina.. The grip is a fine example, in perfect condition, and fits the cross guards nicely. The grip has a mahogany look to the wood. The SA runes button has good enamel. The nickel grip eagle is very nice. It shows just a little nominal wear on the eagle’s head, but all the other details are present. The scabbard shell is straight throughout, The finish is worn on the surfaces. The scabbard mounts are matching nickel. The upper example is in fine condition. The lower mount ball is dented as most are.. The original screws are all there. The nickel hardware is age patinated, matching the fittings. The bright blade is quite nice and would be near mint except for a few small age stains, more on the reverse than obverse. The blade, though is still quite nice and grades easily at excellent plus. The SA motto is deeply etched and has most of the original frosting in the backgrounds. The reverse ricasso is matching etched with double ovals which contain the company name and location, “J.A. Henckels / Solingen / Zwillingswerk”. In the center is the famous logo of the twins. For those who may not know, the Henckels firm was originated by a pair of twins, thus the word “Zwillingswerk” with means “twins werks”. The blade shoulder perfectly meets the lower cross guard.
