Original WWII German Army (HEER) M43 FIELD CAP. (Einheitsfeldmütze M43) Certified
Original WWII German Army (HEER) M43 FIELD CAP. (Einheitsfeldmütze M43) Certified. Field-grey, wool/rayon blend construction cap features fold down back and side panels with a downward scalloped front edge and forward sides and two, small, metal button front closure. The back and side panels were designed to be folded down to protect the wearers ears and neck and the scalloped front section could be secured with the buttons closed under the wearers chin. The buttons have their original stitching. The front center of the cap has a machine woven national eagle with out-stretched wings, clutching a wreathed, canted, swastika in its talons, in mouse grey rayon threads positioned above a national tri-color cockade in black, white and red rayon threads, both mounted on a woven, field-grey, rayon trapezoid base. The insignia is neatly machine stitched to the cap. The cap has an extended, cloth covered, forward visor with an internal stiffener with a subtly raised lip to the top of the forward edge and a single row of reinforcement stitching to the bottom of the forward edge. The interior of the cap is fully lined in rayon. Roughly a size 59. Nice period worn and used example. Has some field repairs and a very interesting sweat pillow that was added by the solider. Complete museum documentation (COA) Provided. Certified by The Gettysburg Museum of History. 100% guaranteed to be authentic.
