Original WWII German M42 COMBAT HELMET. (Stahlhelm M42) Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified.  Regulations of March 21ST 1940 dictated that the national tri-color decal was to be removed from all helmets and further regulations of August 28TH 1943 abolished the eagle decal and dictated that it was also to be removed from all helmets although the directives were not completely adhered to. The stamped sheet steel construction helmet retains most of its, factory applied, slightly textured, age darkened field-grey over paint.  . All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet has nice M31 leather liner with all of its fingers intact except one .The liner is excellent (see photos).  Original size adjustment string is present. . .The interior  apron has the  stamped manufacturers code D354 then NS64 indicating manufacture by  Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke, AG. Schwerte, size 64 (see photos). Has a nice original chinstrap.   Shows the expected age, wear and use.  In good but used condition.  Gettysburg Museum Certified (COA) provided. 100% Guaranteed to be authentic brought home by a U.S. Veteran.
