Original WWII German NAVY M42 SINGLE DECAL HELMET. (Stahlhelm M42) Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified. The stamped, sheet steel construction helmet retains a good portion of its field-grey paint. The left side of the helmet has a Wehrmacht eagle shield decal which is retained about 80-90%. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet has a, tan, M31 leather liner with all eight fingers it is almost mint except one small tear (see photos). The interior reverse neck guard apron is well marked with a stamped lot number, 3444 “, and the the manufacturers code and size, “ckl66”, indicating manufacture by indicating manufacture by Eisenhüttenwerke in Thale size 66.  the original chinstrap remains. Nice worn and used example showing the expected age and wear. This rough out style Finnish was most likely worn by the coastal artillery Navy battery soldiers who manned the Atlantic Wall. Many of this type of helmet came from Normandy and the defenses there. The eagle shield is the NAVY type with gold flake in the decal. It is very difficult to photograph but is very viable in person especially in natural light.  Nice untouched helmet.. Shows the expected age, wear and use.  In good but used condition.
