Original WWII German ARMY (HEER) M40 SINGLE DECAL HELMET. (Stahlhelm M40) Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified. The stamped, sheet steel construction helmet retains a good portion of its original paint showing some  wear and field usage. Eagle decal is about 35% complete.  All three liner retaining rivets and both inserted ventilation bushings are all intact. . The interior of the helmet has a tan, M31 leather liner with all  but one of the eight of its fingers intact. Original size adjustment string is present. The interior reverse neck guard apron is lot number stamped, “4938”, and the interior left side apron is stamped where the manufacturers code and size is stamped is not readable I would estimate the  size as 68 (nice big size). Chinstrap is not present. It has 2 very small holes on the rim, possibly for a camo chicken wire basket (this would also explain the wear on the decal). Has the original soldier’s name written inside the liner (see photos). Shows the expected age, wear and use.  In good but used condition . Gettysburg Museum Certified (COA) provided. 100% Guaranteed to be authentic brought home by a U.S. Veteran. Sold for historic purposes only. See our other pieces on our web site.
