A silver Pie Server made by master silversmith with Herman Goering’s Personal family coat of arms crest. This is the pattern that is attributed to his home on the Obersalzberg near Berchtesgaden and his personal baggage train that was also there. This house was damaged by Allied bombers just before the it was captured by U.S. and French forces in May 1945. Most of this pattern of Goering silver is attributed to 101st Airborne soldiers but the exact Veteran who took this was not documented. The engraving is OUTSTANDING and all the hallmarks are correct for this piece. Maker mark on the piece is MARTIN with a figure depicting a blacksmith and an anvil. Pieces bearing this specific stamped logo were produced primarily between the 1920s and the 1950s, preceding a company takeover by Wilkens & Söhne in the 1960s.
