Original WWII German Luftwaffe (Airforce) M40 SINGLE DECAL HELMET. (Stahlhelm M40) Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran with blood stains and location diary inside Certified. Helmet retains a good portion of its rough textured Luftwaffe grey paint. Second pattern Luftwaffe eagle decal is also retained about 86%. All three liner retaining rivets intact. M31 tan leather liner has some loss and in used condition blood stains (see photos).   The reverse interior neck guard apron is lot number stamped,  and the interior left side apron has stamped manufacturers code and size, “HKP64”, indicating manufacture by Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke (SE) in Lauter, Germany, size 64.  Nice untouched helmet.. Shows the expected age, wear and use.  And what looks like a blood stain inside. The U.S. Veteran who brought this back kept a location diary written inside including “Chef du Pont” in Normandy making this a good possiblity it was from an 82nd Airborne Veteran! Also visible in Nancy France and several other locations! In good but used condition . Gettysburg Museum Certified (COA) provided. 100% Guaranteed to be authentic brought home by a U.S. Veteran.
